Position Description: This position will manage and implement proactive and responsive communications campaigns for multiple accounts, including: Designing and implementing direct and grass roots marketing campaigns, conducting media relations outreach to mainstream, Christian, and Catholic outlets; writing communications materials, and provide general public relations counsel and services to the firm’s clients, as needed. There is some travel associated with this position. Ideal candidate will have experience as a Director of Communications for a Catholic or Pro-Life organization, diocese or institution.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Media Relations: Developing media relations plans and strategies for clients, writing media materials, regular contact with media representatives, and pitching story and interview ideas. Will also coordinate and produce press conferences, media events, and publicity tours.
2. Marketing Communications: Developing marketing and new media strategies for clients, writing materials, assisting in design of promo materials, implementing grass roots outreach strategies, and coordinating speaking engagements.
3. Writing: Write news releases, op-eds, speeches, brochures, ad copy, and other materials, as needed.
4. Account Management: Manage multiple client accounts, including the monitoring of communications plans, and management of day-to-day account details.
5. Communications Planning: Develop strategic and operational communications plans for clients and assist in the assessment of communications programs.
6. Direct Marketing and Advertising: Develop and implement marketing and advertising strategies for clients, as needed.
Core Proficiencies:
1. A minimum of three years experience in agency, corporate, or non-profit public relations, and/or advertising, journalism, or news reporting.
2. Prior experience working for a Catholic organization, diocese or institution, or in the alternative an educational background that involves the study of the key teachings of the Catholic Church, its organizational structure and history.
3. Proficiency in news, promotional, and editorial writing.
4. An understanding of the needs and work of the national secular media.
5. Ability to manage multiple projects, driving projects through from conception to completion.
6. Proficiency in the marketing and advertising disciplines and excellence in creative thinking and implementation.
7. Knowledge and experience in communications strategy and planning.
8. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and the Internet.
9. A working knowledge of a CMS system or media database.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have at least three years experience in the public relations, communications or journalism fields, and demonstrate excellence in creative thinking and implementation. The candidate should possess outstanding people skills and be compatible with the philosophy and specific niche of the agency which involves advanced understanding of the Catholic Church, her history and principal teachings. Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred.

Position Description : This is an entry-level position supporting the public relations team. This position assists with development of client communications materials and aids in the implementation of client communications campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Media Relations: Assists account teams with media research and development of media lists, media and client contact, monitors and tracks client media activity, coordination and production of press conferences, media events, and publicity tours, prepares campaign progress reports.
Marketing: Conducts research for client outreach campaigns, makes marketing phone calls, and assists in implementation of focus groups.
Writing: Write articles, news releases, fact sheets and other media materials, as needed. Writes copy for promotional materials as needed.

We are looking for a talented, conscientious designer who can work under strict timelines from implementation of websites to other multimedia projects. As a member of the new media team, a professional approach to project management, creativity, and the intuitive nature to work independently are all expectations of this role. Interested designers should have a strong sense of technology as it pertains to interactive, viral media standards.
Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church is strongly desired.
Principal Duties
Designs and develops websites and other interactive projects, either alone or as part of a team, based on creative briefs that include communication goals, issues, and audience requirements
Implements projects in XHTML/HTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP/MySQL, Flash/ActionScript and other technologies as needed
Self-tests completed projects and works with team to ensure accuracy and correct functionality
Reports to the New Media Manager to ensure quality and accuracy of work
Maintains and updates client materials and progress reports on an ongoing basis
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree (in graphic design or related multimedia field) and 2+ years professional experience

Knowledge/Skills
Proven graphic design skills with fluency in Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Illustrator
We also handle many large and small print projects, so print design and production skills, and knowledge of InDesign
Competent computer skills including working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel
